Prophylaxis of angina ▶BY MOUTH ▶Adult: Initially 5 mg once daily; increased if necessary to 10 mg once daily, to be taken in the morning ▶Elderly: Initially 2.5 mg once daily; increased if necessary to 10 mg once daily, to be taken in the morning Hypertension ▶BY MOUTH ▶Adult: Initially 5 mg once daily; usual maintenance 5–10 mg once daily, to be taken in the morning, doses above 20 mg daily rarely needed ▶Elderly: Initially 2.5 mg daily; usual maintenance 5–10 mg once daily, to be taken in the morning, doses above 20 mg daily rarely needed
