Indications And Dose

Treatment of acute migraine ▶BY MOUTH ▶Adult: 2.5 mg, dose to be taken as soon as possible after onset, followed by 2.5 mg after 2 hours if required, dose to be taken only if migraine recurs (patient not responding to initial dose should not take second dose for same attack); maximum 5 mg per day Menstrual migraine prophylaxis ▶BY MOUTH ▶Adult: 2.5 mg twice daily, to be taken from 2 days before until 3 days after bleeding starts l UNLICENSED USE Not licensed for use in elderly. g Frovatriptan may be used for menstrual migraine prophylaxis, h but it is not licensed for this indication.
