Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) decisions SMC No. 477/08 The Scottish Medicines Consortium has advised (July 2008) that vildagliptin with metformin (Eucreas ®) is accepted for restricted use within NHS Scotland for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients unable to achieve adequate glycaemic control with metformin alone or those already treated with vildagliptin and metformin as separate tablets.
